Oshimili Entertainers Set for Historic Town Hall Meeting, Endorse Delta Governor

ASABA — The Office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Delta State Governor on Entertainment, in collaboration with all Heads of Entertainment Bodies in Oshimili South and Oshimili North, has announced plans for a major Town Hall Meeting scheduled for July 30, 2025, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.

The announcement was made during a press conference held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in Asaba.

Speaking during the press briefing, the SSA to the Governor on Entertainment, Hon. Frank Otoide, aka, Frank. D Don, said the upcoming town hall is aimed at sensitizing (educating) entertainers in the area about the recent political shift in the state.

“The reason for the town hall meeting is to sensitize our people — the entertainers in Oshimili South and Oshimili North LGAs — on our movement to a new political party,” he said.

“As you know, many of our leaders, especially His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, have moved from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). It’s important we help the grassroots understand why.”

Hon. Frank D Don also stated that this town hall is part of a larger vision — the “Entertainers Movement for Sheriff” — a movement designed to unify all entertainment industry players in Oshimili North and South.

“This is the first time we are bringing all entertainers together in one body. We want to make sure that everyone belongs to the appropriate guild and is well taken care of. The welfare of entertainers in this region is a top priority.”

The third and final goal of the meeting is to formally endorse Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the 2027 governorship election, as entertainers believe in the vision of his MORE Agenda.

“On the 30th of July, 2025, we will come together to endorse His Excellency for 2027, because we believe the MORE Agenda should continue for another four years,” the SSA explained.

Several key figures and heads of entertainment bodies from both LGAs were present at the press conference. They include:

  • Emma Onyemeziem – Chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Asaba
  • Okafor Charles (TX) – President, Delta Reality Actors (DRA)
  • Augustine Chukwudefu Chizzy – Promoters
  • Okonkwo Emmanuel (Emmiesax) – Chairman, Delta Saxophone Association of Nigeria
  • Godwin Okeke – Chairman, Sound Engineers
  • Paulnams Namene – Gospel Artist
  • Iyekegbe Kennedy – Stage Manager
  • Ofeimu Kingsley (DJ Desaint) – Chairman, Deejay Association
  • Henry Edherela – Chairman, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Oshimili
  • Elsie Chinedu – Hospitality Industry Representative
  • Sir Christopher Ashiedu – Chairman, On-Air Personalities (OAPs).

The town hall meeting is expected to attract massive participation from musicians, actors, DJs, producers, dancers, and other creatives. It will be a landmark event showing how entertainers in Delta State are not just performers, but active voices in shaping the future of their communities.
