In a show of solidarity and commitment to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots, Dr. Ofa Henry Ochuko has paid a surprise visit to APC Ward 8 women, urging them to intensify mobilisation and ensure massive support for all candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
The visit took place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, during the bi-weekly meeting of the APC Ward 8 women, held at the residence of their leader, Woman Leader Christiana Awinoren.
Dr. Ofa's visit was an unexpected but significant development, as he was hosting members of the Ibori Suenu Grassroots Network (ISGN) Media Team when he received information that the women were holding their regular meeting. He subsequently seized the opportunity to interact with the group and encourage their continued commitment to the party.
Addressing the women, Dr. Ofa commended them for their dedication, loyalty and consistent contributions to the growth of the APC. He expressed satisfaction with their impressive turnout and acknowledged the strategic role women play in grassroots mobilisation and electoral success.
With election campaigns expected to commence within the next 48 hours, he urged the women to intensify their mobilisation efforts, reach out to more supporters and work collectively towards securing victory for all APC candidates.
He further encouraged them to remain committed to the party's ideals and sustain their regular engagements, assuring them of his willingness to identify areas where he could provide support and assistance. He also appealed to the women to keep him informed about their bi-weekly meetings to enable him to maintain regular contact with the group.
In their response, the women expressed excitement and appreciation for the surprise visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of recognition, encouragement and solidarity with the grassroots. They applauded Dr. Ofa for making out time to interact with them and reaffirmed their determination to mobilise massive support for the APC and all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The meeting ended on a cheerful note, as the women celebrated the visit and took a commemorative group photograph with Dr. Ofa.
The visit further highlighted the importance of sustained engagement with party members, particularly women, whose contributions remain indispensable to grassroots political mobilisation, party unity and electoral success.
