COMMISSIONER FOR ENVIRONMENT CHIEF GODSPOWER ASIUHWU VISIT TO OIL COMPANY RAVAGED BY FIRE AT KOKO IN WARRI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

 The state Government has simpartized with Ebenco Global Limited on the fire incident that ravaged some of the oil tanks of the company at Koko in Warri North Local Government.

The Commissioner for environment, Chief Godspower Asiewhu simpartized with the company when he visited the Oil company at Koko saying that the state Government will continue to encourage companies in the state.

Chief Asiewhu who was accompanied by a senior Assistant  to the Governor,Mr.Kingsly Iweka and the Director of Sanitation and waste management, ministry of Environment,Mrs.Francisca Atiga, thanked the Olu of Warri,Ogiame the third, and Koko Community  for the show of love and encouragement to the community.

The Commissioner said the state Government received the information of the fire incident with a shock and prayed God to avoid such occurrence.

He commended the company for the courage and zeal in ensuring that the company moved forward no matter the circumstances.

Chief Asiewhu advised companies operating in the state to take the issues of security and safety seriously to avoid loses.

The General manager of the Ebenco Global Limited,Mr.Dan Iberedem,who expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for the visit, said that it was by the grace of God there was no casualties.

He said the fire started at about seven o.clock in the morning and with the help of the community and some companies around they were able to manage the situation and put out the fire.

Mr.Iberedem said the company is still investigating the remote and immediate cause of the fire incident and will pass the findings to appropriate quarters at the end.
