 The Investiture of the State Chief Judge,Hon.Justice Tessy Diai as president and Hon.Ejaife Odebala as Deputy president,Delta State Scout Council has been held  in Asaba.

Performing the ceremony, the National Chief. Commissioner of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Hon.David Awunah said the Investiture was aimed at giving responsibility to responsible members of the society in order to inject a positive change in the society.

The chief commissioner, said the world organisation of scout movement is a worldwide non-gov rnmental youth educational movement with a mantra to develop young people through a value system based on  scout laws and promise.

He said in bide to reawaken the scout consciousness in the country there was need for members to contribute their quota towards nation building and overall national Growth and stability.

Hon.Awunah called on members and Nigerians to help educate children on the need to refrain from dangerous drugs and bad acts enimicle to a better society.

In a remark, the Assistant Chief Commissioner, retired Justice, Esther Edirin, commended members for taking the responsibilities of impacting positively on the society, stressing that it will go along way to reform the society which the Scout Association activities was aimed at.

She called on the youths to avoid being used for negative activities as it would not tell good stories of their life adding that youths supposed to be the future leaders and when not well trained would mislead the society.

The state scout Commissioner,Hon.Lawrence Agbagoro while congratulating the chief Judge, Justice Tessy Diai and Hon.Ejaife Odebala for the Investiture, said scout movement was the world leading non-governmental and non-formal educational youth movement with the vision to develop young people through a value system based on the scout law and promise thereby mobilising and stimulating them for positive community service.

He solicited for the cooperation and overall commitments of all stakeholders to support the scout movement to realise its goals and objectives in scouting for the young ones to become the ambassadors of the scout messagers of peace initiatives and sustainable development goals.

Hon.Agbagoro expressed gratitude to the state government through the ministry of secondary education for approving for the scout movement to return and to be established in all secondary schools in the state.


He pledged his loyalty and support to the new leadership of the state council and commended the national leadership for the ceremony

The scout Association who later paid courtesy visit on the Asagba of Asaba,Prof.Chike Edozien conferred on him the national patron to the Nigeria scout.

The Asagba of Asaba prof.Chike Edozien while commending the Association for the visit and confirment saying that he will continue to contribute his quarter to the process of the scout movement.

He said his dreams in the past was to become a member of the scout but was denied by the parents stressing that the confirment was a dream filled.

The chief commissioner of the scout Association of Nigeria,Hon.Dave Awunah thanked the Asagba for receiving the Association saying that it had been in their minds to come and honour him.

He said it was their hope for the traditional institutions to have scout movement around them saying that it will go along way to reach out to the grassroots.

Present at the ceremony were,former SA to Governor OKOWA comrade Mike Okeme and sir.Edwin, the permanent Secretary Government House and protocol.
