ENVIRONMENT AND SANITATION COMMITTEE OF THE INAUGURATION OF INCOMING ADMINISTRATION HAS COMMENCED WORK

The Environment and Sanitation Committee of the inauguration of the incoming administration in the state has commenced work. The committee has the State Commissioner for Environment,Chief Godspower Asiuwhu as chairman while Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba and the State Chairman, Taskforce on Environment Chief. Sylvester Oromon, among others are members. The committee was at the Asaba Airport, the Koka flyover and the Steven Kechi International Stadium in Asaba to ascertain the level of work awaiting them. Chief Asiuwhu said committee would ensure that state capital was kept clean before and after the inauguration. He called on Deltans, particular residents in the state capital to take charge of their environment,stressing that anyone found dumpping refuse indiscriminately would be arrested and prosecuted. Chief Asiuwhu particularly warmed residents against dumping refuse on median kerbs as it was against the environment laws. He enjoined members of the committee to be committed to their assignments
