Deltans have been charged to join hands with the Local Government councils in keeping the environment clean and halthy.
The Chairman OSHIMILI South Local Government, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, gave the charge when he received the Environmental Health Officers Association, OSHIMILI South Local Government inhis office to breaf him on the World Environmental Health Day.
While commending the Environmental Health Officers, Dr. Ezenyili said there was need for everyone to be aware of the danger in a dirty Environment.
He said OSHIMILI South Local Government will continue to ensure that people living in the Local Government are sensitized on the need for a clean Environment to avoid outbreak of diseases.
The Chairman promised to always support the Environmental Health Officers in what they do as it would help to reach out to the people.
The State secretary of the Environmental Health Officers, Madam, Esther Edafinene said World Environmental Health Day was always observed by the Environmental Health Officers every Year and aimed at sensitizeing the people in order to mitigate the negative impact of human activities in planet earth.
She said in life everybody is very important to the growth of the economy, hence the Environmental Health Officers took it upon themselves to go round to sensitize people on the best way to keep the safe.
She appreciated the Local Government chairman for his support for the Environmental Health Officers in actualizing their dream.
Madam Edafinene called on Nigerians to be aware that the activities of the people contributes in protecting or destroying the Environment, adding that when an environment is not well kept it attracts epidemics that could lead to death.
