A near fertal accident occurred along Ibusa Expressway close to Ibusa Town,involving a tanker loaded with fuel.
According to the driver, Mr.Abdukarim Umaru, said they were carrying products to stations when suddenly the vehicle developed fault.
He said he parked the truck and called a mechanic saying that when the mechanic was trying to fix the fault, the truck rolled back that led to the blockage of the major road.
It was also learnt that people around used the opportunity to scoop fuel but with the intervention of the Road Safety, police, Army, Federal fire service, Anti cult and other Agencies protected the ugly incident which occurred in some other places.
The State Commissioner for Transport, Mr Onoriode Agofure who vited the site of the fallen tanker condemned the idea of scupping fuel when a truck involved in an accident.
The commissioner who commended the law enforcement Agencies who protected the ugly incident from occurring said it was too bad for people to see danger and yet go ahead to scoop fuel.
Mr. Agofure also cautioned truck drivers to always put in adequate safety measures while on the road.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Traffic Management,DESTMA have removed the fallen tanker from the road
