A new state executive of the Joint Civil Service Negotiating Council labour side has emerged,JNC a critical component of labour got a boost following the emergence and inauguration in a keenly contested election.
At the end of the election in which two positions were keenly contested. Chairmanship & Treasurer, Comrade Benson Efeotor, chairman Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) emerged the chairman after polling 10 votes to defeat his rival, comrade Lawrence Otueroro of the amalgamated Union of Public corporation civil service technical and recreational services employees (AUPCTRE) who secured 3 votes.
Other members of the new executive include comrade Okonye Onyeamazuwa, Medical and health workers union (MHWUN)Vice chairman, Comrade chuks Isichei national union of printing, publishing, Paper and product workers(NUPPPPROW) secretary.comrade Philomena Onokpuvie(NANNM) Assistant secretary and comrade Chris Anamonye(NUPSRAW) Treasurer,
Comrade Ziko Okwudi Vice Chairman of the Nigeria labour Congress Delta State Council who presided over the election commended members for conducting themselves in the spirit of sportsmanship advising them not to see the outcome of the exercise as the end of the world.
In his post election speech the new president of JNC, comrade Benson Efeotor commended the entire membership of the council,made up of eight unions for electing him and other executives.
The election which held at the labour house Asaba was witnessed by Mr Andrew Ajari who represented the head of service Mr Reginald Bayoko mini.and other critical stakeholders in the trade union movement.
