MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE FOR THE LAST SATURDAY OF MONTH TOOK ACROSS THE SATAE WITH RESTRICTIONS OF MOVEMENT

 The monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the last Saturday of  January took place across the Deltan State with restrictions movement.






The ministry of environment, waste management Board, Local Governments and other agencies mobilized staff and equipments to monitor and evacuate the resultant refuse to approved dump sites.



Spotnewscommunication news crew that monitored the sanitation exercise in Asaba reports that mobile court was on ground to try the defaulters.

It was observed that there was relative compliance by residents and motorist while those who disobeyed the environmental laws were arranged before the mobile court.

In an interview, the chairman of Oshimili South Local Government, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili expressed disappointment at the nonchalant attitude of some residents towards sanitation exercise, saying that the exercise was for their own good as going to the hospital would reduced in their families.

He said the focus of the Oshimili South Local Government being the State Capital was to ensure that it looks better and beautiful for the admiration of all, saying that the way you position yourself would determine the way people will judge you.

Dr.Ezenyili appealed to residents to join hands with the state and Local Governments to keep the state clean. 


The Vice Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Mrs. Ify Ogbogwu advised residents to always clean up their environment to avoid out break of epidemic stressing that the sensitization campaign by the Local Government was enough to educate the people.

She said the Local Government will no longer tolerate indiscriminate dumping of refuse in unauthorized locations as the law would take its cause and advised them to register with the private Sectors Participants PSPs for easy evacuation.


The Asaba Youth President, Comrade Obodo Okediachi, advised youths to always take charge of their environment by maintaining the attitude of cleanliness.

He said the society relied on them and should learn fast and take positive steps to keep their environment clean to avoid unhealthy living.



At the of the sanitation exercise, eleven persons were arraigned  before the mobile court and cautioned.
