DSCTDA CONTINUES INSPECTION OF ROAD PROJECTS, ASSURES OF IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE

In a bid to accelerate the Infrastructural Development in the State Capital, the Director General (DG) of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Chief Patrick Ukah, has continued the inspection of ongoing construction of roads by the agency.
He said the essence of the visit was to ensure that the jobs were done according to specifications inline with international best practices and contracts
Chief Ukah expressed satisfaction at the progress and quality of work done, maintaining that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's led administration will ensure that the state got the best in terms of Infrastructural development.
The roads inspected included: The rehabilitation of 400m length of Onaje Street and 200m length of Nwanze Street, the rehabilitation and Asphalt overlay of Ajaji/Ofili Nwamu/Ilukwu Ofili Nwamu Streets and the construction of Odogwu Close(From stop over junction on Ibusa road to "A" Division Police Station on Nnebisi Road all in Asaba , Oshimili South Local Government Area.
Also inspected were the construction of Marine Road, construction of the flood control measures at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Streets with a discharge drain through Ogbogonogo Market to Otuogwu Bay all in Oshimili South Local Government Area.
Ukah who spoke during an inspection of ongoing projects, said the agency was focused on completing all ongoing jobs for the benefit of Deltans adding that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had directed that every MDAs must give him projects that would be commissioned to mark his administration's one year in office and the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency was committed to fulfilling that mandate
'" Many contractors are pushing for upward review, but the state government is not going to accept any review except there was enough justification adding that there would be zero tolerance for half- done jobs as all corrections have been pointed out and the contractors have equally agreed to effect corrections".
Earlier, the Engr in charge of the Ogbogonogo storm drainage projects , Mr Chris Akpokhere , staff of Danis Providers Durable Services, the company in charge of the project explained that the major challenges of the job was lack of cooperation from traders ,motorists, residents and business owners due to their daily activities around the project.
He expressed further that his company is working assiduously to complete the project in due time.
