Double Taxation Woes for Deltans: A Call for Fair Waste Management

Residents of Delta State are frustrated and outraged over the double taxation they face for waste management services. 
This is as a result of monthly fees to Private Sector Participants (PSP) and another annual payment to Vicky & Win, consultant,as agent to the state government,.
The Manager in a tekephone conversation claims to collect annual levies and enforce regulations for the Waste Management Board on behalf of the state.

This double taxation has sparked fuss and widespread discontent among residents, who demand that the government addresses this unfair practice. 
The chairman of the Waste Management Board Mr Edema inva telephone chat denied involvement but promised to investigate and resolve the issue, attributing the directive to the Board of Internal Revenue.


The Impact of this Financial burden on residents, many of whom are already struggling to make ends meet can not be imagined.
-Eroding trust in the government's ability to manage public services is another cause for worry.,
In the potential negative impact on the environment, as waste management services may suffer due to lack of clarity and funding.

It is however hoped that Government will Streamline Waste Management Services, consolidate services under a single, transparent provider ,clear communication to clarify the roles and responsibilities of Vicky & Win and the Waste Management Board and 
ensure that those responsible for the double taxation are held accountable.

By addressing this double taxation issue, the Delta State government can demonstrate its commitment to fairness, transparency and effective public service delivery.
