The need to bridge the divide between the youths and the law Enforcement Agencies to ensure every young voice is heard, respected, and empowered has been stressed.
The Delta State Chairman Youth Committee of the, Police Community Relations Committee,(PCRC), Comrade Don Whyte Sajere highlighted this while inaugurating, His Royal Eminence,Sir Valentine Akpati as a Patron of the Youth Committee of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Delta State Command at Area Command Office Ozoro,Delta State.
Other persons inaugurated include,Mr.Semeon Godswill Oreva and Mr.Ukuame Jude Ovodoroye.
While describing the position of the Patron as a dignified one, Comrade Sajere charged the new Patrons to continue to be a good and responsible ambassadors of the (PCRC) in the State saying that with their roles as mediators of the (PCRC),youths will be able to play their roles in the society.
He said as Patrons, they will be at the forefront of their mission to bridge the divide between the youths and the law Enforcement Agencies in ensuring that every young voice was heard, respected and empowered.
The Chairman revealed that their vision aligned perfectly with their core objectives to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where young and old can thrive.
While congratulating the Patrons,Comrade Sajere called on PCRC, members to reaffirm their commitments to the noble cause and pledge their support for the Patrons as they embark on the new chapter together in the State.
Responding,His Royal Eminence, Valentine Akpati pledged to ensure that the (PCRC), take a new positive reforms, where every youth will be proud of.
He commended the efforts of the Area Commander Ozoro, ACP,Zakari Mohammed,Officers and members of the (PCRC) for the honour, saying that it was a beginning of a new done.
His Royal Eminence Sir.Akpati called on Deltans to have a change of attitude and continue to support the police because without the community the law enforcement agencies cannot perform creditably well in their duties.
He noted that policing in Nigeria setup was becoming too dangerous and needed serious reformation, stressing that security was everybody's responsibility.
HIS Royal Eminence, Valentine Akpati,who is also the Patron of the GSFEN, Worldwide, called on the new Patrons to have in mind that their job of Patronship,was to actively promote peace,human rights and justice on national and international platforms.
Also speaking,Mr.Semeon Godswill Oreva and Mr.Jude Ukuame Ovodoroye commended the (PCRC),for the honour and pledged support for the progress of the body.
In a remark, the Area Commander,Ozoro,ACP,Zakari Mohammed represented by CSP,Paul Chagwa commended the efforts of the PCRC, saying that the body had always been supportive to the Police force.
He called on Deltans, especially the youths to stay away from trouble and support the police to achieve the best for the society.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the certificate.
