Director-General of National Orientation
Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu,recently in Abuja charged members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to champion the responsibility of national identity and values promotion campaign in the country.

Issa-Onilu made this call at the monthly general
meeting of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter
of NIPR held at Bolingo Hotel and Towers.

According to Issa-Onilu, public relations practitioners
have a vital role to play in nation building, noting that
Nigeria must transcend being a mere geographical
entity and become a true nation bound by shared
values and identity.

He said NOA, in collaboration with NIPR, is working
assiduously to define and promote the Nigerian
identity, insisting that a brand cannot be effectively
marketed without first identifying its core attributes.
