Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on youths across the state to embrace good manners and responsible conduct in their daily lives. He emphasized that the strength of any society lies in the discipline, character, and values of its younger generation.

Speaking during a funeral engagement recently in Warri, the Governor urged them to see social media as a powerful instrument for building unity rather than promoting division along ethnic or political lines. He stressed that the online space should be used to project positive narratives about Delta State and its people.

Governor Oborevwori noted that social media, when misused, has the capacity to inflame tensions and deepen divisions. He therefore charged young people to be vigilant about the kind of content they share, promote, or endorse, reminding them that every post carries consequences beyond the screen.

He further highlighted that Delta State is a diverse society, rich in culture and ethnicity, but this diversity should be celebrated as a strength, not exploited as a weakness. According to him, mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding among ethnic groups remain vital ingredients for lasting peace and prosperity.

The Governor also encouraged youths to focus more on developmental issues, including entrepreneurship, education, technology, and community service. He stated that such focus will not only advance their personal growth but also position Delta State as a leading hub for innovation and progress in Nigeria.

In his remarks, Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for youths to thrive. He urged them to join hands with the government to move Delta State beyond its current achievements, making it a model for unity, good
