The urgent need for adequate electricity supply, Health Facilities and functional educational centres across Delta State as a catalyst for development has again been emphasized.
The King of Ejeme Unor, Obi Godwin Nzemeke, and the King of Ejeme Aniogor, Obi Anthony Ogbori, emphasised this while lamenting the absence of electricity, functional Health Facilities and equipt educational centres in their kingdoms for many years.
The Royal Fathers revealed that their communities also lack basic health facilities, noting that the nearest hospital is several kilometres away— a situation that has led to avoidable deaths among residents.
They further expressed concern over the rising unemployment and lack of empowerment opportunities for youths in their communities. According to them, the absence of educational and vocational support has pushed some young people into drug abuse and other harmful activities due to idleness and frustration.
While appreciating the State Government for the little development recorded so far, Obi Godwin Nzemeke and Obi Anthony Ogbori appealed for more proactive measures to positively transform their communities.
They stressed that allowing a community to remain in darkness for fifteen years is a clear sign of neglect, one that has had damaging effects on the lives and progress of their people.
The Royal Fathers pointed out that some of the link roads they started construction had been abandoned, stressing the need for proper attention.
They pledged full support for the administration of Governor Oborevwori as he continues to impact on the lives of Deltans.
