NDOKWA ELDERS FORUM CHAIRMAN OMENOGOR CALLS FOR UNITY, RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP
The Chairman of the Ndokwa Elders Forum, Chief Dele Omenogor, has called on the people of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency to embrace unity and collective action as a foundation for sustainable development.

Chief Omenogor made the appeal while receiving members of the Ndokwa Media Professionals Forum (NMPF), who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Amai, Ukwuani Local Government Area, to discuss strategies for promoting peace, unity, and accelerated development across the Ndokwa nation.
The elder statesman expressed concern over what he described as increasing disunity among Ndokwa people, noting that personal interests have continued to undermine collective progress.
He disclosed that the Ndokwa Elders Forum is working closely with other stakeholders to strengthen unity and foster the overall development of the constituency.
He urged media professionals to partner with community leaders by using their platforms to promote peace, unity, and development, stressing that the media has a critical role in shaping public opinion and encouraging positive change.
According to him, many people in Ndokwa prioritize personal ambitions over the common good, making it difficult to build consensus on issues affecting the region.
"When you don't support a particular idea, you are tagged an enemy. Look at the recent protest by the Isoko people over poor electricity supply.
The protest was led by community chiefs wearing traditional regalia and beads. If such happens in Ndokwa, people will begin to blackmail you and even call you a non-indigene," he said.
Chief Omenogor, the Odogwu Adiebua I of Amai Kingdom, also decried the poor electricity supply in Amai community, revealing that the town has not enjoyed up to 24 hours of electricity in total since the beginning of the year.
He called on the electorate to prioritize competence and integrity when choosing political leaders, emphasizing that only capable representatives can attract meaningful development to the Ndokwa nation.
The Ndokwa Elders Forum Chairman further advised journalists to uphold the ethics of responsible and investigative journalism, warning against allowing political interests to influence their professional judgment.
"The media is a powerful tool in democracy. Don't allow politicians to misuse you as journalists. Avoid praise-singing and always balance your reports. If Ndokwa people can put aside selfish interests, we will do better.
As journalists, report fairly regardless of money, and Ndokwa will achieve greatness," he stated.
