The Newly sworn-in Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Oleh Branch Timothy Agbaragu, has pledged synergy with the Judiciary to ensure quick dispensation of justice within the jurisdiction.
Agbaragu made the pledge on 5th July 2026 at Oleh, Headquarter of Isoko South Local Government Area Delta State, while taking oath of office along with other elected Executive Officers ( EXCO ) to pilot affairs of the branch for the next two years.
Speaking after the oath of office administered by a Notary-Public, Mr. Prosper Ezo, Agbaragu who is a Dispute Resolution Specialist asserted that the branch would continue to collaborate with the Judiciary as ministers in the temple of justice to upholding the rule of law, stressing to defend the rights of members and the vulnerable in the society.
The chairman implored other contestants in the just concluded election, members and stakeholders to join hands with the new EXCO to build a strong bar that will strengthen the institution of justice, reiterating commitment to the completion of the bar centre on record time.
He said his administration shall be guided by the principle of transparency, accountability and inclusiveness, maintaining that members would be exposed to regular training and retraining in digital technology through NBA mandatory Continuing Legal Education to keep pace with digital reforms in the legal profession
The chairman expressed appreciation to the Electoral Committee for conducting a free, fair and credible election that ushered in the new administration. He thanked founding members, particularly, Honourable Justice Joshua Efemena Ikhede ( rtd ), Prosper Ezo and Kennedy Uwubiti, leaders and critical stakeholders for their sacrifices in sustaining the peace and unity of the branch which had earned admiration among comity of branches in the state.
The outgoing chairman, Mr. Peter Erhinyodavwe expressed gratitude to members of the branch for their support, especially Chief Benedict Owonye for offering his conference hall freely for over eight years for all activities of the branch
Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2013, Mr Timothy Agbaragu, has served the branch in various capacities including publicity secretary, secretary, and member of several committees.
Other officers who were sworn-in include Mrs Okemena Okole vice chairman; Jude Itedjere Secretary; Daniel Onianwa Treasurer, and Benjamin Oreighe publicity secretary.
