Representatives of the over one million traders at the Oko market in Asaba have appealed to the Delta state Governor, Francis Sheriff Oborevwori to listen to their cries and assist them to repair the deplorable roads in their market.
The appeal was made at the Oko market square in Asaba by the three eminent leaders, traders and politicians in the area.
Alhaji Haruna Rabiu Babangida also known as Baban Bacha, Bukar Abacha and Umaru Tunga as well as the chairman of rice and beans Association Alhaji Usman Bashiru.
While speaking with journalists concerning the challenges they are facing at the Oko market, the leaders jointly called Governor Oborevwori to personally pay a visit to the market in order to see things for himself.
The traders on a different account narrated how the bad condition of the road had prevented and obstructed many traders from various other parts of the country access or Gain entry to the Oko market due to the nature of the road.
