The importance of peace between husbands and wives, especially when children are involved, cannot be overstated.
Conflict between parents can have lasting, detrimental effects on children's emotional and psychological well-being.
The Delta State Director,Peace and Human Rights, Ambassador, (GSFEN),Richard.
Ossai who stated this at Obeti community Town Hall meeting in Ukwani Local government said,Peace was Necessary for the emotional Stability of Children to thrive in peaceful environments,as conflict can lead to anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues.
While blaming the husband of the woman, Ambassador Ossai noted that to have allowed the wife to pass through such trauma,stressed the need for parents to be Role Models to the Children as they learn from observing their parents peaceful relationships which promote healthy relationship skills.
He said Children feel safe and secure when parents have a loving, peaceful relationship.
The Ambassador said the Human Rights Advocates role was to mediate as they are trained as mediators to help resolve conflicts peacefully.
He explained that Human Rights Ambassadors Provide access to counseling services for couples and children as well raise awareness about healthy relationships, conflict resolution, and children's rights.
Ambassador Ossai said they equally involve Community Support groups for couples and families as well as Conflict Resolution Initiatives to develop community-based conflict resolution programs.
The State Director said they engage community leaders,elders, and professionals to resolve disputes as early Intervention address conflicts before they escalate.
Ambassador Ossai said by prioritizing peace in relationships and involving human rights advocates and community members, they can create safer, healthier environments for children to thrive.
The community members who spoke including,Chief ogbuefi Ogbuta Adoh and Chief collins Otuya, commended the peace Ambassadors for their intervention,saying that it will help to bring peace and help the children.
They appealed to the peace Ambassadors to forgive the the man and promised to handle the matter at the community level and report back to the peace Advocates.
At the end of the meeting the husband and wife agreed to come back together.
