Fake and unwarranted Taskforce on Tricycle and motorcycle operators have been warned and admonished to stay away from the illegal operations or face the wroth of the law.
The State Director General, Taskforce on commercial Tricycle and motorcycle operators, (COMTOA),Comrade Uchenna Okafor gave the warning while interrogating a young boy engaging in illegal Taskforce, adding that the law never authorised anyone apart from approved Taskforce members to engage in illegal operations.
Comrade Okafor said they have been receiving reports of the illegal and Fake Taskforce and his men mobilised into action that led to the arrest of one of them who is now in costody.
He rev8ealed that the authorised members of his Taskforce team can be identified with an identity card issued by the State ministry of Transport, stressing that anyone without such ID card is fake and unwarranted.The Director General, called on the members of COMTOA, to report anyone found doing any illegal Taskforce operation to the office on Summit road for immediate action or report to the nearest police station.
He said this will not only help to distinguish legitimate operators from impostors but also will contribute to greater accountability and safety across the state.The media representative of the Union,(COMTOA),Mr.Meshach Ozoh, emphasised that the State Taskforce members are trained and knows their job,saying that those who are infiltrating will be fished out and prosecuted.
He said that the authorised Taskforce members and the law enforcement agencies are working together,adding that whatever they are doing is well known by the law enforcement agencies.
Mr.Ozah revealed that all members of the Taskforce under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Okafor are all registered stressing that it was painful that some who have been disengaged are still faking membership.
He called on the Tricycle and motorcycle operators as well as members of the public to report the intruders to the office of the Taskforce or any nearest police station.
The alledged fake Taskforce member Mr.Paul Enujeku denied that he is not a fake Taskforce member but a registered member working on traffic light road.
