Nsukwa Youths Hold First-Ever Youth Conference, Call for Unity and Development
The Nsukwa Youths Development Association (NYDA), on Friday, 2nd January 2026, held its first-ever Youth Conference, tagged “Conference of Unification,” in a lively atmosphere at the Nsukwa Town Hall, Nsukwa, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The historic event was organised to mark the successful completion of the association’s activities for the year 2025 and to celebrate the dedication, commitment, and resilience of Nsukwa youths towards community development.
The conference brought together youths from different quarters of Nsukwa Kingdom, community leaders, stakeholders, and invited guests, all united by a shared vision of peace, progress, and collective responsibility for the future of the kingdom.Commissioner’s Message
The Commissioner, for Technical Education,Hon, Smart Ufoh,congratulated the Nsukwa youths for successfully hosting their first-ever conference and for choosing the theme Conference of Unification.
He described the initiative as timely, noting that united and focused youths are critical to community growth and state development.
The Commissioner encouraged the youths to continue to embrace peace, lawful engagement and constructive dialogue, while assuring them that government remains committed to supporting youth-driven initiatives that promote unity, security and development at the grassroots.
Hon Ufoh, further charged the youths to see themselves as partners in development and ambassadors of their community, whose conduct and collaboration can attract opportunities and progress to Nsukwa Kingdom.
.In his welcome address, the President of the Nsukwa Youths Development Association Comrade Harrison Opia,described the conference as a milestone achievement, noting that unity among youths remains the strongest tool for sustainable development.
He stressed that the “Conference of Unification” was aimed at fostering harmony, rebuilding trust, and strengthening collaboration among Nsukwa youths.
Comrade Opia,further commended members of the association for their commitment throughout 2025, adding that despite challenges, the youths remained focused on promoting peace, social responsibility, and community growth.
Several speakers at the event emphasised the need for youths to shun violence, cultism, and disunity, urging them instead to embrace dialogue, leadership, and meaningful engagement in community affairs.
They encouraged Nsukwa youths to see themselves as ambassadors of peace and development both within and outside the kingdom.
Highlights of the conference included interactive sessions, goodwill messages, cultural displays, and the recognition of outstanding youths who contributed to the association’s success during the year under review.
The event ended on a high note with renewed commitments by Nsukwa youths to work together in unity and to support initiatives that will advance the social, economic, and cultural development of Nsukwa Kingdom.
