A three-day intensive hands-on molecular biology training workshop organized by DEXMIAN Specialist and Research Laboratory commenced on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Asaba, Delta State, bringing together lecturers, scientists, and laboratory professionals from various universities across the state.
The training focuses on practical techniques in modern molecular biology, particularly nucleic acid extraction, amplification technologies, and Hepatitis B viral load quantification, aimed at strengthening laboratory practice, research output, and diagnostic capacity in Nigeria.
In his welcome address, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DEXMIAN Specialist and Research Laboratory, Dr. Collins O. Adjekuko, warmly received participants and described the workshop as a significant step toward professional transformation for those attending.
Dr. Adjekuko noted that the training was carefully designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and laboratory competence required in modern biomedical science. According to him, the programme will enable participants to independently perform nucleic acid extraction, set up real-time PCR assays, accurately quantify Hepatitis B viral load, and properly interpret molecular diagnostic results for clinical decision-making and research purposes.
