The Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Hon. Ezenyili Kelvin Obi (Ph.D.), popularly known as EKO, has officially signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to accelerated development and improved service delivery across the council.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Hon. Obi commended the Legislative Arm of the council for its dedication and professionalism throughout the budget preparation and review process. He specifically praised the leadership of the House, headed by Hon. Michael Okonji, describing the legislature’s approach as thorough, capacity-driven, and focused on the collective interest of the people.
A key highlight of the event was the Chairman’s renewed commitment to commence the long-awaited reconstruction of the Council’s Back-End Road, a project that has been a major concern for residents and stakeholders for several years.
According to Hon. Obi, the reconstruction of the road will significantly improve accessibility to the Council Secretariat in Asaba, particularly from the DLA axis. He noted that the project would not only ease movement but also boost economic activities within the surrounding communities.
“The road serves as a vital access route to the Council Secretariat. Its reconstruction will provide a safer and more convenient alternative to the expressway for residents, workers, and visitors,” the Chairman stated.
EKO assured the people that the 2026 budget is strategically designed to deliver tangible democratic dividends across critical sectors, ensuring that every community in Oshimili South Local Government Area benefits from impactful development initiatives.
He also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for creating an enabling environment for governance through the MORE Agenda, which he said continues to strengthen development efforts at both the state and local government levels.
Reaffirming his administration’s vision, Hon. Obi pledged to sustain the current momentum of development and continue implementing people-oriented policies and projects that will justify the confidence placed in his leadership by the people of Oshimili South.
