Oshimili South Legislature Passes Vote of Confidence on Hon. Dr Obi Kelvin Ezenyili
The Oshimili South Legislative Arm passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South Council, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
The vote was passed during a plenary session, with all 12 members of the legislative arm voting in favor of the motion.
The motion was moved by Hon. Emeka Okolie, the House Majority Leader, and seconded by Hon. Isioma Osade, the Chairman of the Committee on Works.
In his speech, Hon. Okolie highlighted Hon.Dr Ezenyili's achievements as Executive Chairman, including:
Purchasing a 500kva standby generator to provide uninterrupted power supply to the secretariat.
Collaborating with security personnel to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the local government area.
Partnering with the private sector in a PPP arrangement to improve the infrastructural development of council lands.
Engaging youths as environmental marshals to enforce compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Partnering with ECO Bank Nigeria PLC to empower female petty traders at a 0% interest rate.
Grading roads across the local government area.
Empowering youths, widows, and less privileged people with cash gifts.
Offsetting over 60% of outstanding debts owed to contractors by the previous administration.
Providing palliatives for flood victims.
Redesigning, reconstructing, and refurbishing the executive complex of the Oshimili South Local Government Council.
Constructing and furnishing the Oshimili South Legislative Complex and naming it after the late Mrs. Maryam Babangida.
Refurbishing the Oshimili South Revenue Court.
Reconstruction and furnishing of Ultra Modern Ogwa Asaba.
Hon. Okolie also commended Hon. Ezenyili for the harmonious relationship that exists between the executive arm and the legislative arm.
In his response, Hon.Dr.Ezenyili thanked the legislative arm for the vote of confidence and expressed his commitment to continue working hard for the people of Oshimili South.
He said that he would not rest until he had achieved his goal of making Oshimili South a better place to live.
The vote of confidence is a clear indication of the high regard in which Hon.Dr.Ezenyili is held by the legislative arm.
It is also a testament to his hard work and dedication to the people of Oshimili South.
