Delta Investment Summit Key to Economic Growth – Tidi
Economist, lawyer and public policy scholar, Dr. Michael Tidi, has described the forthcoming Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 as a strategic platform for attracting investments, creating jobs and accelerating economic development.
In an article titled The Economics of Delta's Investment Summit, Tidi said the summit, scheduled for August 3–5, 2026, in Asaba, reflects the Oborevwori administration's commitment to diversifying the state's economy beyond federal allocations through private sector investment, industrialisation and infrastructure development.
He commended the state government's investments in roads, bridges, power infrastructure, the Delta Special Economic Zone and the blue economy, noting that these initiatives position Delta as an attractive destination for local and foreign investors.
Tidi stressed that the true success of the summit should be measured by the volume of investments attracted, industries established, jobs created and improvements in the living standards of Deltans, rather than the number of attendees or speeches delivered.
He urged sustained policy implementation and investor engagement to ensure the summit translates into long-term economic growth and prosperity for the state.
