The State commissioner for Environment, Chief Godspower Asiuhwu has charged civil servants to put in their best when in service in order to live admirable lagacy when they retire from service.
The commissioner who gave the charge at a send forth party organised for retirees in the ministry of Environment, including the Director Sanitation and Waste management,Mr.Lucky Adah, said there was need for everyone to live a life worthy of emulation.
Chief Asiuhwu described Mr.Lucy Adah as a game changer and a man with high quality wisdom and hard working.
Why commending the efforts of the permanent Secretary Dr.Minnie Oseji and staff inputs in moving the ministry forward, Chief Asiuhwu, called on them to improve in their profession so that people will be able to tell good story of them when they retire.
He commended the efforts of Mr.Adah in putting in his best and whished him and other retirees happy retirement and prayed God to guide and bless them.
The permanent Secretary of the ministry,Dr.Minnie Oseji, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for approving the send forth party saying that it had brought the staff closer to themselves.
She congratulated the retirees for successful service to the ministry and Delta State government.
Dr.Oseji called on those still in service to put in their best so that people will tell their good stories when they retire.
The Head of service, Mr.Reginard Bayoko, representated by the permanent Secretary Special Duties, Mrs.Augustinful and pla Onokpise, said retirement is not a death sentence,stressing that there was need to be hopean for the future.
Some of the staff who spoke thanked the commissioner and permanent Secretary for organising the send forth party saying that it was encouraging and prayed for its continuity.
Some permanent Secretaries who have served in the ministry invited to the programme,Dr.Moor Ebreme and Mr.Precious Anukwu said civil service is an educational institution where you lean deferent skills which after service you go out to exhibit.
They congratulated the retirees and wished them happy retirement and commended them for their contribution toward the development of the state.
In his response, Mr.Lucky Adah thanked the commissioner and staff of the ministry for honour done them saying that it was not expected.
A Thanksgiving mass was later head at St.Monica Catholic church,Uda Layout Asaba while reception took place at Seat of Wisdom Academy,off Ibusa Expressway,Asaba.
