Many households has been displaced from their homes as unabating flood worsened in parts of IIlah, Ugbolu,Asaba and Oko communities,in Delta State.
At Illah community, many farm settlements where devastated as their houses and farms where submerged, crops worth millions of naira were destroyed while many households displaced.
Some of the community leaders who spoke, including,Mr.Uche Obiodiaka, Chief.Uzor Omene,Rev.Marypaul Ogbu and Mr.Benard Otunuya, said it was by the grace of God they are managing.
They called on the state government to come to their rescue as they are stranded.
At Ugbolu, the only access road had been cut off and transportation to that axis had been tripled,as Asaba to Ugbolu which used to be two hundred naira is now five hundred naira while Illah attracted Nine hundred naira.
A visit to back of stadium and its environs revealed that some residents have vacated their homes to close by neighborhood while some managed to stay by.
Also affected were Oko communities where many households escaped death.
Some of the affected persons including, Mrs.Felicia Ogosi, called on the federal and state governments to come to their aid because even when they relocate to safe places they need to secure their properties.
They said in the past, when they left their homes,hoodlums invaded and stole their properties.
