The indigenes of Asaba have been charged to protect and project the reach cultural heritage of Asaba people.
The Iyase of Asaba, Obi Patrick Onyeobi gave the charge at the conferment of Odoziaku on his wife, Obi,Nwanyi Mary Jane Uzochikwai Onyeobi, by the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Chike Edozien .
Obi, Onyeobi described Mary Jane Onyeobi as a caring and lovely wife who have demonstrated qualities that befit human hood .
He appreciated the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Obi,Chike Edozien for deeming his wife fit for the title of Odoziaku and urged other women of the community to live exemplary life for their children to emulate.
Conferming the chieftaincy title of Odoziaku on Mary Jane Onyeobi, the Asagba of Asaba Prof. Chike Edozien prayed God to bless her,saying that he was proud of the Asaba people as it was a good thing for women to join their husbands in fulfilling their cultural heritage.
The Asagba of Asaba called on Asaba people to continue to embrace peace as no community can progress without peace and security.
He equally called on the security Agencies to beef up security in the State Capital as the Christmas celebration is approaching to ensure peaceful celebration.
On the development of Asaba, the state capital, an appeal was made to the State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to give priority attention to internal roads in Asaba in order to further demonstrate his more agenda.
