A five day programme to mark the third combined convocation ceremony of the Delta State Polytechnic OGWASHI UKU,kicked off on Wednesday with press conference.
The Rector OGWASHI UKU Polytechnic,Prof. Emmanuel Achuenu, while briefing newsmen said the programme will feature presentation of prizes, Award of National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, and conferment of Honour and Fellowship.
Prof. Achuenu said since he resumed as the Rector of the institution, their focused had been to provide quality education and technological advancement.
He said the management and the Student Union has been working in synergy to ensure that peace was maintained while cultisim and insecurities in the school reduced to manageable level.
The Rector also said that the students elections in the school that used to create uncontrollably crisises has been digitalized and no longer lead to disunity.
He said ICT center and solar system department had been created to train the students .
The Rector revealed that electricity supply was not regular when he took over office, adding that he was able to connect to the 33KVA Line which is now supplying 24hours electricity.
He expressed gratitude to the state government for the contributions made so far stressing that the good road constructed inside the campus was encouraging and pleaded for more roads and water provisions.
Prof. Achuenu also revealed that the school is doing very well in sports and had given good name to the school.
He said the progress of the institution was achieved through tetfunds and internally generated funds.
While commending the management of the school and students for their cooperation,Prof. Achuenu pledged continued improvement of facilities in the school.
