Yuletide: Delta State Taskforce On Environment Charges Residents On Cleanliness Warns Against Environmental Infraction.

The Delta State Government through the State Taskforce on Environment has charged residents in the state to stick to good hygiene, dispose waste responsibly and follow environmental safety protocols as they celebrate during and after Yuletide for healthy living
The Taskforce Chairman, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu in a statement, said it was important to remind residents to show love to themselves and the environment as they celebrate.
Asiuwhu, who felicitated with the people for witnessing another festive season, urged them to value the environment and ensure that waste generated during Christmas and New Year celebrations are properly disposed.
According to him, “as we celebrate the Yuletide, Delta State Taskforce On Environment calls on everyone to maintain a clean, safe and sustainable environment always and adhere to the principle of cleanliness by clearing their immediate surrounding and disposing waste properly.
He added, "this is to sustain the clean and green environment initiative of the state government and avoid all forms of diseases and causality".
The chairman added that residents in the state should keep their environment clean as they go about the celebrations
He called on traders to desist from displaying their wares on road medians, road setbacks, lay–by among others as such habits pose danger to themselves and others who may be using the road at any given time.
He also warned that those who fail to adhere to the state environmental laws will face the full wrath of the law.
Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu also used the occasion to wish Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the people of Delta State a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
