Youths of Aniocha South Local Government have appealed to the State Government and PDP for the equitable distribution of political positions in the area.
The appeal came up at a peaceful protest carried out by the youths from Ogwashi -Uku, Ubulu, and Nsukwa clans demanding for equitable distribution of political positions in Aniocha South Local Government.
The protesting youths carrying various placards with inscriptions, such as on equity we stand,we say no to family business in Aniocha South, we say no to impunity and Nsukwa clan needs chairmanship from Aniocha South among others.
In an address presented to the state Governor, Honourable,Francis Oborevwori in Government House Asaba, one of the leaders of the youths, Mr. Andrew Onyisi Okolie stated that the prevailing political situation in Aniocha South was lopsided as sharing of political positions was not evenly distributed.
Mr Okolie emphasized that the three statutory positions, such as the House of Assembly, Commissioner ship, and local government council Chairman were been given to Honourable Juan Onyemaehci family at the detriment of other political class from other clans in Aniocha South Local Government.
In response, the state Governor, Honourable Francis Oborevwori, represented by the Chief of Staff , Government House,Honourable Johnson Erijo expressed satisfaction on the peaceful protest embarked by the youths and gave the assurance that the state government will respond to the issues dispassionately.
At the PDP secretariat the youths were received by the state treasurer of the party, Honourable Taophy who commended the youths for their peaceful protest saying that such actions will help to strengthen the party as PDP belongs to all .
