As Muslims  all over marks Id El Kabir

The Chairman Arewa Traditional  Council, Delta State, has called on the Muslim Communities to maintain peace as they enjoy the two day public holiday.

ALHAJI IBRAHIM BABA GERO who is also the   Sarikin in Hausa Community       stated this in an interview in Asaba the Delta State Capital.

The Sarikin , who was represented by Secretary General Arewa Traditional Council  Delta State    Gambo  Adam Muhammad, said it was a period of thanksgiving  by  Muslim faithfuls using   Ram, cow, goat or camel instead of humans.

He said this was inline with the biblical story of Abraham wanting to use Isaac for sacrifice before God presented him with a ram.

The respondent, complained that in his 20 years of the celebration of Id el Kabir  it was only this year he could not sacrifice ram as a result of the economic hardship in the country.

According to him the prices of Ram ranges from 350 to 400  hundred thousand Nigerian Naira in the south and in the Northern part of the country is about 150 to 200 hundred thousand Nigerian Naira.

He therefore called on government at all levels to make policies that will restructure and revamp the economic status of Nigeria.
