A renowned member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers,NURTW, Delta State,has appealed to the State Government to intervene in the internal crisis bedeviling the Union in the State in order to restore peace and orderliness.
The former state Chairman of the Union,Chief Ifeanyi Obi who made the appeal while speaking with newsmen said the internal crisis has affected the Union negatively which needs urgent intervention.
He said the appeal became necessary because members no longer have peace to diligently do their job that will benefit the state Government and the people economically.
Chief Obi said the crisis emanated from some intruders who are using the lingered crisis for their personal gains.
He said as a leader of the Union for many years he had tried in so many ways to broker peace but for no avail, stressing the need for urgent intervention by the State Government.
The former State Chairman explained that some members of the Union in collaboration with some political elites had turned the Union into personal business as a result of the lingered crisis.
Chief Obi noted that the division in the Union had resulted in many dangerous crisis capable of involving innocent lives stressing that it had been God's intervention.
He appealed to members of the Union not to take laws into their hands or engage in violent acts as it would only lead them to more damages that will not benefit anyone.
The Union leader pledged loyalty and full support to the more agenda of the administration of Rit.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori.
