AS A SHOW OF LOVE FOR THE SEASON,OBI EZENYILI Empowers 500 People With Fifty Million
The empowerment programme which attracts the Deputy governor of the state, top government functionaries, friends and well-wishers,sons, and daughters of the kingdom took place at the main community in Oko kingdom
In his welcome address,Dr. Ezenyili disclosed that the empowerment programme was in line with the state Governor's, MORE AGENDA, and bullding a facility of this nature becomes necessary.
Dr. said with the provision of the amenity fully fitted and with developed equipment, has brought relief to the entire people of Oko community who travel outside the place to hold their meetings and other social gatherings due to unavailability of such ceter.
Obi Kevin EZENYILI maintained that Oko community have not had it so good in the past, but because of their nature as peace-loving people, they’ve been steadfast in supporting the government.
The council chairman revealed that Oko community is a food basket, as farming is mostly the mainstay of the indigenes of the community, pointing out that it would be improper if they are not remembered with the provisions of dividends of democracy, at least to create a warm and embracing feeling in their hearts.
He said they have decided as a government to carry out this programme to give the great people of Oshimili South a sense of belonging by creating a window of opportunity through democratic dividends by inclusiveness, saying that the programme will address the problem of youth restiveness and ensure they are properly engaged.
According the chairman,youths of today,are the leaders of tomorrow, adding that It was time to equip the would be leaders of tomorrow, so that the older ones will live in an environment devoid of any threat or fear of attack or disturbance from them,as the saying goes, “A hungry man is an angry man”.
He said the administration is youth oriented, and they are determined to encourage them to live a life worthy of emulation,as that was their testament of the determination to build a new Oshimili South Local Government Area, to move it to an enviable height it deserves, as the host of the state capital.
While commending the council chairman during the commissioning, the wife of the state Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori said the facility will spring up social activities in the area.
Oborevwori, however, urged the community to ensure that prompted maintenance of the facility while assuring that MORE infrastructural development will be present in the community.
