NUJ Marks 2024 Press Week with Thanksgiving Service.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council ,held a thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Living Faith Church, Okpanam, Asaba. The event marked the beginning of the 2024 Press Week, a celebration of journalism and media excellence.



In his homily, Pastor Samuel Oluwole cautioned Christians to be discerning about the prophecies they listen to, emphasizing that not all prophecies are from God. He stressed that only prophecies from God can yield positive results, while fake prophecies can lead to harm.
The clergyman encouraged Christians to cultivate a personal relationship with God, reading their Bibles and putting everything into prayer. He emphasized that God can speak directly to individuals who are committed worshippers, and that they should prioritize listening to God's word over human prophecies.


Pastor Oluwole congratulated the NUJ on the occasion of their Press Week and offered prayers for the success of the event.

In an interview, the Delta State Chairman of the NUJ shared his thoughts on the significance of the Press Week and the role of journalists in promoting democracy and good governance.
Also speaking, the state Secretary of the Union Comrade Victor Sorokwu and the state Auditor Comrade Celestine Afakoba said that the programme was well planned to educate the members and public .

The main programme will be held tomorrow at the NUJ, press centre Asaba beginning at 11am.
