A 41 member Advisory committee has been inaugurated at the Oshimili South Local Government in furtherance of the Chairman,Hon.Obi Kelvin Ezenyili's commitment to accommodate all genuine aspirations of the people.
Inaugurating the Advisory committee, the Chairman, Oshimili South Local Government,Hon.Obi Ezenyili said the Advisory committee was set up to provide advice on the administration's policies that will help to steer great wheel of development in the local Government.
He explained that the community comprises the most brilliant and experienced minds in the local Government, adding that their roles was critical as it will guide the administration in achieving its policies and mandates.
Hon.Obi Ezenyili said Oshimili South Local Government housing the state capital,needs much commitments to create enabling environment, for peace and security.
He charged the committee to take decisions that would ultimately benefit the electorates and enhance the commitment to the rapid development of all the communities in line with the administrations developmental agenda.
The Chairman noted that the committee was to provide expert advice to the chairman on the economic development of the local Government and advice on the chairman's functions in administration of the local Government.
He said they are also to advise the executive chairman on the socio cultural development of the council and to facilitate stake holders engagement with identification of emerging issues.While congratulating members of the Advisory committee, the Chairman advised them to work within the frame work of the teams of reference and come up with an advisory reports that will benefit the entire local Government area.
Responding on behalf of others, the Chairman of the Advisory committee,Hon.Mordi Ononye commended the chairman for his efforts and promised that the committee would work hard to ensure the advancement of the local Government.
Meanwhile, the chairman also laid grand breaking foundation of the new Secretariat office building at Oshimili South Local Government premises and promised to work hard to ensure the completion of the structure.
