26 PERSONS ARRAIGNED BEFORE MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION MOBILE COURT CONVICTED

The monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise  for the month of February, took place on Saturday 22/02/2025 between the hours of 7am -10am.
The Chairman Oshimili South local Government,Dr.Kelvin Ezenyili mobilised his staff with Tipper trucks to evaluate debris decilted from gutters as well monitored the exercise in Asaba the State Capital.
During the exercise, vehicular and  human movements were restricted and residents who disabayed environmental laws were arrested and arraigned before the mobile court.

The Chairman, said cleanliness is everybody's business,stressing that any violator of sanitation laws must face the consequences 

He said the Council has made it a duty for everyday sanitation,adding that there was need for attitudinal change to avoid dirty Environment.
Dr.Ezenyili revealed that the Local Government is collaborating with the State Government and other Agencies in the state to ensure that the Local Government was kept clean.

He appealed to residents to join hands with the Local Government to achieve the best for the state.

The Chairman also commended the state Government for calling back the contractor handling the drainage construction on Ogbeilo street opposite Ogbeogonogo Market saying that it will go a long way to curb flooding in the community.

Also speaking, the Oshimili South local Government,Head of Environmental Health Officers,Mr.Eugene Oshilim stressed the need for the state and local Government to collaborate in ensuring clean Environment.

He said residents has been sensitised and it was time to take action that will bring better sanitation system for the state.

Mr Oshilim commended the Oshimili South chairman Dr.Ezenyili for his efforts in ensuring that the local Government is clean and urged residents to join hands with the local Government to keep the community clean.

Meanwhile,Ogbueshi Nwosa Onwuegbuzia equally commended the state Government for the drainage system under construction at Ogbeilo street saying that it was a rescue to the community especially during raining season.
At the end of the sanitation exercise 26 persons were arraigned before the mobile court precided over by a senior Magistrate, Mrs.Ngozi Okogwu,and were convicted and given different ranges of fines.
