The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Comrade Titus Okotie has commended the state Government for upgrading years of service and years of retirement for teachers in Delta State.
Comrade Okotie gave the commendation in his office in Asaba while speaking with newsmen, saying that the state Governor sheriff Oborevwori has a good intention in encouraging teachers in the state.
On the issue of stagnation of primary school teachers, promotion, Comrade Okotie said there was hope because the Union have not rested on the matter, stressing that Governor Oborevwori is a listening person and with shortest time their demands would come to fruition.
He called on parents to watch over their children closely while the teachers should try by all means to take care of the children for better up bringing as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
Speaking on the coming Union election, Comrade Okotie said it was not possible for any member or outsiders to impose a candidate on the Union because it has been zoned.
Comrade Okotie called on members of the Union to search for the best that will help to carry the Union forward.
