Electricity Shortage, PIA Top Agenda as Isoko Youths Set August 14 Parley
The Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) Worldwide will on August 14 host a public discourse in Ozoro to address critical issues affecting the community, including petroleum industry reforms and the region’s prolonged electricity shortage.
The meeting will also review the governance records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, with the aim of producing a position paper to be presented to state and federal authorities.
According to a statement jointly signed by INYA President, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, and Secretary General, Governor Emumena, the forum will bring together stakeholders, youth leaders, and members of the public to deliberate on political leadership, energy challenges, and legislative reforms.
Orogun said discussions will centre on four key themes: the impact of President Tinubu’s two years in office on the Isoko people; Governor Oborevwori’s contributions to Isoko Nation over the same period; progress in implementing the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA); and practical solutions to the area’s power crisis.
The Assembly stressed that as one of Nigeria’s largest onshore crude oil-producing ethnic nationalities, generating significant revenue for both Delta State and the nation, it is vital for Isoko youths to engage in constructive dialogue on issues that shape their collective future.
The deliberations will culminate in a position paper aimed at fostering a more prosperous Isoko Nation and Delta State.
The event will take place at the Isoko Youth House (Fred Obe Secretariat), Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, starting at 11:00 a.m. prompt.
