OKPANAM COMMUNITY PROTEST AGAINST LAND GRABBERS

The State Governor, senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has called on Okpanam Community to embrace peace and work with the state Government to find a lasting solution to the land crisis between them and some persons in Ibusa Community.
The state Governor represented by the economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr.Kingsly Emu said there was nothing trouble can attract rather than negative out come.
He commended Okpanam Community for the peaceful protest saying that, taking laws into their hands would result in endless crisis.
The Governor told Ibusa Community and Okpanam Community to work together as one close families in order to attract more development to their communities.
The Youths of Okpanam Community who protested to the Government House, appealed to the authorities of the government to checkmate the nefarious activities of land grabbers before it will snowball into serious breakdown of law and order.
The Okpanam Youth President, Comrade,Lucky Okolo allegedly accused Chief Fred Ajudua and the state Commissioner for Lands and Survey Barr.Kate Onianwa of forcefully encroaching into Okpanam Community land.
He said Okpanam Community had toriorated the activities of Chief Ajudua and that of the Commissioner for Lands and Survey and would no longer bear the insults.
Comrade Okolo said within the past few months, there have been reported cases of illegal land deals, killings, attacks and assaults,as some youths are already facing trials in court and some in remands in correctional center at Oghashi-Uku.
He also alleged that the Commissioner for Lands and Survey had been making things difficult for them to push forward their matter.
The Youth President Comrade Lucky Okolo said the Commissioner had used her position to protect and prevent the aggressived communities to pass their problems to the authorities.
He said Obodogwugwu axis of Okpanam and other Okpanam landed properties was invaded recently and it was by God grace life was not lost.
Comrade Okolo called on the state Government, the police commissioner to take urgent steps to stop the Land grabbers from their nefarious activities as the Youth of Okpanam would do everything possible to recover their land., senato
