DTSG COMMITTED TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO THE DUMPSITE
The commissioner for Environment Mr.Ejiro Jamani, has appealed to the Private Sector Participants PSPs, to exercise patience as the state government is finding a lasting solution to the problems at the dump site.
The commissioner made the appeal while addressing the protesting PSPs in Asaba.
He said the ministry had meet with the chairman Oshimili North Local Government for intervention stressing that with time everything would be fine.
Mr.Jamani who was with the Director Administration Waste Management Board, Mr. Stephen Idogun told the PSPs to always reach out to him any time they are in difficulty.
He commended the PSPs for their Patience and peaceful protest.
The private Sector Participants PSPs today embarked on peaceful protest against no maintenance of the existing dump site in the State Capital, Asaba.
The protest lead by it's chairman, Comrade Samson Osuere blocked the entrance to the Post Primary Education Board which also acomodates Waste Management Board office on Summit road Asaba.
According to the chairman, Comrade Samson Osuere, the protest was aimed at drowing the attention of the state government to the sufferings of the PSPs as well sensitize the public on the problems faced by the PSPs.
He said the residents have several times attacked the PSPs in zones thinking that the problems were that of the PSPs.
The chairman said there was no access roads to the dump site and lack of maitainance of the dump site.
Comrade Osure called on the state government to listen to the challenges of the PSPs so that the residents would have rest and have a protected Environment.
He also appealed to the residents to excersise patient as the problem would be solved, while advising them to comply with the PSP and register for effective Service delivery.
