NDLEA STRESSED NEED TO ERADICATE DRUG TRAFFIKING AND ABUSE

 The need to eradicate drug trafficking and abuse has been highlighted.



The state Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA, Mr.Abubakar Wada, highlighted this while speaking on the negative effects of drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria.

He said problems starts from upbringing and peegroup which influence the thinking and the actions of the youths.

Mr. Wada revealed that the duties of the NDLEA was to ensure that the abuse was reduced to the barest minimum as it has affected the society negatively.

He said the NDLEA, in synergy with other law enforcement Agencies and traditional leadership checkmates the  drug abuse.

The NDLEA,Commander said the abuse and trafficking is majorly in cities as the increase in population is a major attraction. 

He also attributed the increase in crime to drug abuse as the influence of drug can make them to do what they would not do on clear sense.

Mr. Wada explained that they are not only to arrest offenders, but also engaged in counseling and rehabilitation of the youths.

The NDLEA Commander called on the public to feel free to report any victim of drug abuse to the office as they will help to rehabilitate the person without charges.
