The Delta state fire service has rescued the lives of four children and property worth millions of naira in a fire incident that gutted a building in Asaba last week.
The state Director of fire service Mr Eugene Oziwele disclosed this in his office in Asaba while speaking with journalists.
He said he received a distress call from the owner of a building at about 9:30pm on the fateful day and he quickly consulted the federal fire service for a joint operation which led to the quelling of the fire as it was late at night.
Mr Oziwele debunked the rumours and publication by some misleading newspapers that the water trucks that where brought by the fire officers at the scene had no water inside the truck.
Mr Oziwele expressed satisfaction at t0he breakthrough recorded by the gallant fire men at the incident and advised members of the public to always call G.S.M number 08030882755 rather than being hostile to firemen at the scene of fire incident.
