A renowned labour leader in the state and Deputy President of the Radio, Television, Theater and Art Workers Union, (RATTAWU), Comrade Innocent Ofuonyeadi, has been installed the 9th President of Isunambogu Social Club, Delta State branch 

The colourful event, which took place in Ibusa at the weekend, was attended by past Presidents, veterans and Associates of the 46-year old Club
In his acceptance speech after receiving the insignia of office, Onowu Comrade Innocent Ofuonyeadi expressed appreciation to the Club for finding him worthy to lead.

Comrade Ofuonyeadi said his choice as President came to him as a surprise because he had not served in any other capacity since he joined the Club four years ago, describing the solidarity shown to him by members as overwhelming.

He assured members of the Club that he was prepared to serve and would do that with every sense of humility, transparency and responsibility.

The outspoken labour leader acknowledged the enormity of the task of leading the foremost Social Club and solicited the support and cooperation of members in taking the Club to greater heights.

In his remarks before transferring the mantle of leadership to Onowu Comrade Ofuonyeadi, the immediate past President of the Club, Onowu Awele Azimoh, said the organisation had come of age, with a good record of achievements in the sociocultural development of Ibusa.

Onowu Azimoh commended the founding fathers of the Club for their foresight and called on members to show greater commitment to upholding the ideals of the group.

He described the new President of the Club, Comrade Innocent Ofuonyeadi, as a young man who had carved a niche for himself and wished him a successful tenure.

The event, which was chaired by the State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, represented by a SSA to the Governor on Youth Mentoring, Mr. Lucky Alika; feature celebration of Associates and presentation of service merit awards to deserving veterans of the Club.
