The recent ban on iron condemn scavengers has attracted reactions from Deltans and non Deltans alike.
Investigations carried out by spotnews correspondent revealed that while some people welcomed the state government decisions some regards it as increase in unemployment.
They said scavenging is in deferent categories and should be deferenciated and body should be set up to regulate the activities of the scavengers rather than out right ban.
They said ministry of Environment and other regulatory agencies could be given the authority to map out the best way to easy off the tension .
The respondents pointed out that companies which are into recycling and other related companies had been thrown out of business because of the ban and many youths out of job.
They called on the State Government to revisit the decision and find out the best option to the situation stressing that it might lead to more crime.
Same respondents suggested that laws should be put in place where penalties for breaking the law regarding iron condemn activities ranging from fine to terms of imprisonment or both could be a guide.
