The State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC Corp commander Mr. Muftau Adebayo has flagged off the Inter-Agency Joint Task force to mitigate road crashes and ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The Sector Commander disclosed this during a press conference on the corps level of preparedness ahead of the Eid-El Kabir celebration.
Mr. Adebayo said that the corps was prepared to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers especially as during and after the Eid -El Fitri celebration.
He noted that the special marshals would complement the efforts of the regular marshals in the enforcement and public enlightenment campaigns.
According to the State FRSC boss, the corps has released an operational order to guide patrol and rescue operations nationwide during the upcoming celebrations and has also outlined modalities and strategies in line with the order of the operations from the FRSC National Headquarters.
Mr. Adebayo revealed that the Joint Task force will embark on aggressive sensitization campaigns and also go hard in trailers and trucks that convey human being into the State.
The State FRSC Commandant appreciated the efforts of the State Government in supporting the corps activities as well as the construction of roads across the State while also pleading that some of the federal roads which are in a dilapidated be fixed rather than waiting for the federal government.
The Executive Chairman of the Joint National Transport Safety Committee, Delta State chapter Mr. Armstrong Okoisor in his remarks said the body will continue to synergize with the FRSC to ensure they monitor the activities of trailer and truck drivers.
Mr. Armstrong the body which is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the trailer and truck drivers in the State will ensure anyone found wanting carrying human being or allowed them to hang on top of goods and animal would face the wrath of the law
