MATTER OF PROPOSED ANIOMA CREATION IS SETTLED

The matter of the proposed creation of the Anioma state have been settled as stakeholders of the Anioma extraction converged in Asaba, the Delta State Capital to decide the way forward.


The meeting converged by Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North at the National Assembly took place on Saturday 31st August,to sensitize Anioma people on the importance  of the creation of Anioma state.



The meeting was attended by  important personalities in the Anioma extraction, including some serving and former National and State Assembly members, traditional rulers, community leaders, women and youths.

Speaking to the gathering, Senator NWOKO said his ambition for the creation of Anioma State was not for selfish interest but for the good of all 



He said the agitation for the creation of Anioma State started long ago, stressing that because he has intereste of the good of Anioma people at heart,he has to do the needful.



Senator NWOKO said when Anioma State is created, Government of all levels would be closer to the people as many people would hold possions of authority.

Senator Nwoko explained that the bill for the creation of Anioma state has passed through the first reading and expressed confidence that soon  it will scale the second reading, promising to mobilize every shareholder to the public hearing when the time comes to witness and show support for the bill.



He called on all Anioma people to support the move as it was for the good of all, adding that Anioma has enough resources to pilot the affairs of the State.


In their separate remarks, Hon Ngozi Okolie, Hon Ossai N. Ossai, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, and some traditional rulers, including Ochendo Asagba, Engr. Louis Edozien; Obi Henry Kikachukwu of Ubuku,-Unor, Dein of Agbor, Ikenchuku Kiagborekuzi 1, among others, thanked Senator Ned Nwoko for his commitment to the agitation for the creation of Anioma State and pledged their support.



They appealed to sons and daughters of Anioma extraction to see the agitation for the creation of the state as a collective responsibility and be prepared to be part of the success story of the new state.
