The Private Sector Participants,PSP,in the state Waste management have started the verification of members.
The verification which took the executive members round many of the Local Government areas, including Uvwie,Warri,Oleh,Agbor,Udu and Asaba, among others was to determine the number of PSPS and their seriousness in the job.
Addressing the PSPs in Asaba, the State President of the Association, Comrade Lucky Adjekuko said the verification was not to witch-hunt any member but to ensure that members have good trucks to continue on the job.
He said many a time they have been accused of non performance as a result of trucks not being available or faulty trucks.
Comrade Adjekuko said that after the exercise, the results would be submitted to the State Government authorities that will also set up it's own verification committee.
The President explained that after the exercise, those who do not have trucks would be replaced with capable hands, adding that as the population of Delta State is increasing, there was need to have functional PSPs to meet up the demand.
The State Secretary of the Private Sector Participants PSP, Comrade Maxwell Egbe who commended the Association for taking the bold steps, said the verification would go along way to sanitize the body and it's activities.
He appreciated the State Government for given them the opportunity to participate in the activities of the State and advised members to be serious with their job.
In a remark, the representative of the Waste management Board, Mrs.Evelyen Oritsewezie commended the Association for their services to the State saying that very soon the Government would also do the same to ensure they have good hands.
She said the new Board Chairman is a man with zero terorance for poor services adding that their verification would go along way to sanitize the system.
Highlights of the verification was physical test of the strength of their trucks.
