The executive chairman,OSHIMILI SOUTH Local Government,Dr.Kelvin Ezenyili,has called on residents and security Agencies in the state capital, Asaba to join hands with the local Government authorities to fight the insecurities in the local Government.
Dr.Ezenyili,who made the call at a security meeting in his office in Asaba,thanked everybody for giving him the opportunity to come back for the second term as the local Government chairman, saying that security matters was the responsibility of everyone.
The security meeting which was attended by representatives of the state police command,DSS,NSCDC,NDLEA,Vigilantes and other security authorities,were called according to the Chairman, to have report of the present situations of security in Asaba and it's environs.
Dr.Ezenyili said the local Government have been trying its best but cannot do it perfectly without collaboration with residents and security Agencies.
He said OSHIMILI SOUTH security Watch is going to be created which will involve all stakeholders in the local Government especially security Agencies.
The chairman equally revealed that phone numbers will be made available for individuals to call in case they experience any insecurity situation.
Dr.Ezenyili said security revolving funds would also be created for people to contribute to the security matters in the local Government.
While commending the participants in the security meeting, the chairman appreciated the peaceful nature of the last national protest stressing that violent protest would not have achieve positive results.
Dr. Ezenyili said the issues of drug abuse,he will work with the office of the drug law enforcement to address the matter saying that drug abuse contributes to the escalation of crime the society.
