The Ukpalabor Traditional Festival of Ogume people has been held with dances and merriments.
The Ukpalabor Festival which was held at Ogbe Ogume Town Square on 26th of January,2025 was coordinated by the Okpala Elishi of Ogume,His Royal Eminence, Obuenwe,Sir Valentine Sunday Akpati.

In a message,Sir, Valentine Sunday Akpati, admonished Ogume people to always embrace peace and work as one family for development of Ogume.

He said any community without love, peace and harmony cannot attract development, stressing that Ukpalabor Festival was celebrated to express gratitude to God and appeals for more blessings.

The Okpala Elishi explained that Ukpalabor Festival was a celebration of new year and attunement for better years to come.
His Royal Eminence, Valentine Akpati said Ukpalabor Festival was also a celebration that units the people, saying that sons and daughters of Ogume always use the time to visit their father land and celebrate with others.

He advised communities to try and protect their culture as culture is the identity of a people.
Also speaking, Chief John Bini commended the turnout of Ogume people saying that this year's celebration was a huge success and encouraged Ogume people to continue to embrace their culture.
He commended the efforts of the Obuenwe,His Royal Eminence, Valentine Akpati for the success of the Ukpalabor Traditional Festival and prayed God blessings for him and his family and Ogume in general.
